ABBS wants its website and customer/investor portal to be usable by as many people as possible. We aim to design, build and maintain the service with reference to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA and to make reasonable adjustments where a disabled person would otherwise be placed at a substantial disadvantage.
What users should be able to do
Our aim is that users can:
- zoom and resize text without loss of content or function;
- navigate the service using a keyboard without becoming trapped;
- use common screen readers and speech-recognition software;
- understand headings, labels, instructions and error messages;
- use forms and authentication steps without relying only on colour, sound, dragging, memory or inaccessible puzzles; and
- access captions, transcripts, text alternatives or alternative formats where relevant.
How accessible the service is
The service has not yet been fully assessed against WCAG 2.2 AA. Until testing is complete, some parts may not be fully accessible, particularly older downloadable documents, complex technical drawings or models, third-party embedded content, authentication flows, data tables and investor/customer documents supplied in PDF format.
Feedback, help and alternative formats
If you cannot access content, need information in another format, or encounter an accessibility problem, contact us through the contact form or by telephone. Tell us the page or document, the problem, the format you need and how we can contact you. Do not include sensitive information unless necessary.
We aim to acknowledge accessibility requests within 2 working days and provide a substantive response or proposed timescale within 10 working days. Complex technical or security-sensitive requests may take longer; we will keep you informed.
Third-party and security-sensitive content
Some content or functions may be provided by third parties. We will work with suppliers to improve accessibility and will try to offer an accessible alternative where reasonably practicable. Accessibility adjustments will be balanced with legitimate portal security requirements, but we will not rely on security as a reason to avoid considering effective alternatives.
Enforcement and complaints
If you are dissatisfied with our response, ask the ABBS Company Secretary to review the matter. You may also seek advice from the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS) about rights under the Equality Act 2010. The Public Sector Bodies accessibility regulations generally apply to public-sector bodies; ABBS publishes this statement as a private-sector service provider and as part of its commitment to inclusive access.
